"I’d like to have a text translated from French to English … Why don’t you offer this combination of languages?”

Parallèle is a linguistic services company that specializes in the French language – our mother tongue and our passion.

We’ve chosen to specialize in only one language combination to focus our efforts on providing the very best service at the most competitive rates.

Although our team is very well versed in English, we prefer to recommend the services provided by our Anglophone colleagues for your French to English translation needs or for the revision of English texts.

"Do you provide emergency services?”

Translation and revision are often the final steps in a long process, and tight deadlines require single-minded availability. This is why we provide rush service.* When a contract is at stake or a file requires your full attention, we work with your company to help you realize your project within the established deadline.
*Additional charges apply.

"Are your translations revised?”

Our basic translation rates include revision by a third person who provides a clean look at the text and thorough proofing. The reviser makes sure that the correct semantic and stylistic equivalents have been used and also verifies spelling, numbers and formatting.

"Are you a member of a professional association?”

All your texts are handled by language professionals who are members of the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ). The OTTIAQ’s mission is to ensure and promote the competence and professionalism of its members in the fields of translation and terminology. Parallèle is also a member of the Association des travailleurs autonomes et micro-entreprises en services linguistiques (ATAMESL).

"Why should I call on your company rather than use automatic translation software?”

Automatic translation software can be useful to get a quick idea of the contents of a foreign language Web page. But texts generated with this type of software are riddled with errors of all sorts and are often unreadable. These tools can’t recognize regional linguistics variations, subtleties, levels of language, etc.
